What makes Botox and Xeomin Injections so Different?

Since 2002, when Botox was first FDA approved for cosmetic use, it has been consistently one of the most popular cosmetic treatments. In fact, Botox is currently the number one treatment, with over 4.4 million injections performed each year. The global expansion of cosmetic medicine has popularized the use of injectables like Botox and Xeomin for promoting smoother, younger-looking skin. Botox and Xeomin injections are two of the most common and highly rated treatments that are used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Is Xeomin Better Than Botox?

Xeomin and Botox both contain a neuromodulator based formula that contains the active ingredient botulinum toxin type A, which produced by a bacterial species called Clostridium botulinum. The active ingredient works by blocking neuromuscular signals to relax the muscles targeted at the injection site. Despite the fact that these treatments contain the same active ingredient, they have some differences in how they are used and formulated.

The main difference between Xeomin (and the primary reason that we use it) and Botox is that Xeomin contains a more pure form of botulinum toxin. Botox contains accessory proteins, whereas Xeomin is designed to deliver the toxin without any protein additives. This purified structure has been show to help prevent antibody resistance which is a growing problem that has been seen with injections administered over time.

Xeomin Injections Provide Fast Results

We’re humans, which means we love instant gratification. While there are other powerful non-invasive treatments that can reverse the signs of aging, they typically have some healing time and require multiple sessions. Xeomin results are almost immediate, which makes this treatment appealing to anyone who wants to look younger, and fast.

Xeomin Injections Are Versatile

We can use Xeomin in a variety of different applications on the face to smooth wrinkles and expression lines. Some of the most popular uses are:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (the 11s)
  • Top of the nose (bunny lines)
  • Wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Lines around the mouth (fine lines and deep smile lines)

Our clients love the results they get with Xeomin. This safe and effective treatment has been used for decades to help restore that youthful appearance.
